Helen M. Gaff, 86, died Wednesday August 29, 2012 at the Golden Years Homestead Retirement Community in Fort Wayne. Born in Summitville, IN, Mrs. Gaff was the daughter of the late Ernest and Ida Allman. She lived her life as a loving wife, dedicated mother, and nurturing grand and great-grandmother. For years, she was a faithful member of the Avalon Missionary Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 64 years, Glen W. Gaff, and by three brothers and five sisters.Mrs. Gaff is survived by her sisters Mary Rinker and Sue Reagin and her brother James Allman, Anderson, IN. Also surviving are her daughters Carol Gaff, New Haven, IN, and Janet Gaff, Oswego, IL; her son Dale and daughter-in-law Suzanne Gaff, Little River, SC; her grandsons Douglas Gaff and wife Brenda Hooper Gaff, Milton, MA, Daniel Gaff and wife Jennifer Hurley, Alameda, CA, and Jonathon Gaff, Oswego, IL; and her great-granddaughter Delia Gaff, Milton, MA. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday September 1, 2012 at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road. Funeral service is Saturday September 1, 2012 at 2 p.m. with Reverend Jim Platner officiating. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred Memorials may be made to Avalon Missionary Church.
