Gregory Mapps, 58, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, April 15, 2011 at Parkview Whitley Hospital in Columbia City. Born in Fort Wayne, IN, Gregory worked as a national chain manager with Gordon Food Services for 22 years. He was an executive board member for the lighthouse homeless shelter in Columbia City. Greg enjoyed spending time with family and friends on the lake and out on his boat. He loved to water ski, golf, and perform his own lawn maintenance. He participated in the Fire and Ice Carving Festival in Columbia City where they carve ice sculptures. Surviving are his loving wife of 26 years, Robin L. Mapps of Columbia City, mother, Patsy Parr, brother, Jeff Mapps of MN, half sister, Margo (Mark) Adams of St. Louis, MO, and many nieces and nephews. Gregory was preceded in death by father, Howard Mapps. Service is 11:00 am, Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Fellowship Missionary Church, 2536 East Tillman Road with Pastor Suze Fair officiating. Calling at D.O. McComb and Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Avenue Monday, April 18, 2011 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Burial in Riverview Cemetery, 11425 Carroll Road, Churubusco, IN. Memorials may be made to the Lighthouse, 500 W Business 30 Columbia City, IN 46725.
