Alan "Chip" Chambers, 78, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2012 at his home in Fort Wayne. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Chip graduated from Earlham College and also from St. Francis University. He worked with North American Phillips for 21 years. He then worked for BRC for several years retiring in 2000. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, a lifetime member of Toastmasters. Chip was an active volunteer for Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana, where he started their esophageal support group. Surviving are his loving wife of 49 years, Mona Chambers, son, Randy Chambers, daughters, Lisa Miller, Stacy Chambers, brother, Mark Chambers, sisters, Chandra Lencina, Melanie (David) Davenport, sister in law, Ivy Chambers, granddaughters, Alaina and Alison, many nieces and nephews. Chip was preceded in death by father, Dr. Alan R. Chambers, mother, Anne Hechtman, and brother, Michael Chambers. A memorial service will be 1 pm Saturday, August 11, 2012at Messiah Lutheran Church, 7211 Stellhorn Rd with calling two hours prior from 11 to 1 pm.
