C. Ray Noblett Jr., 80, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born in Bland, MO, Clarence was a US Air Force Korean war veteran and a graduate of the University of Memphis. He was President and Owner of Lockyear Business College for 17 years and a past chairman of the Idea Center for 20 years. C. Ray was appointed by two Indiana Governors as the Commissioner for Indiana Proprietary Education Commission, a post he held for 10 years and was a member of Gateway Baptist Church in Newburgh, IN. He was a recipient of the Sagamore of the Wabash and Kentucky Colonel awards, a former member of the Rolling Hills Country Club in Newburgh where he served as the Greens Committee Chairman. Surviving are his daughter, Suzanne Noblett of Fort Wayne; brother, William "Bill" (Linda) Noblett of Newburgh, IN; niece, Carol Collier-Smith; nephews, Kent Noblett of Newburgh, Steven Noblett and Chris Noblett both of Memphis, TN; as well as several other great-nieces and great-nephews. C. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Sr., and Elizabeth Noblett; and brother, Carlos R Noblett. Memorial Visitation is 7 to 9pm Friday, April 13, 2012 at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road. Memorials may be made to the Northeastern Indiana Dept. of Veterans Affairs. I was sorry to hear of your father's passing. I know that you have a special bond with your farther and it was very hard to see him struggle these last few years. You are a very devoted daughter and will remember all the good times you shared with him over the years. It is not easy to loose a parent, so my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
