William G."Bill" Speck, Sr., 95, passed away Monday, April 2, 2012 in Estero Florida. Born in Fort Wayne, IN, He retired after 36 years from Zollner Pistons as the company Personnel-Safety Director. He played on the Zollner Fast Pitch Reserve Team. He was also a member of Moose Lodge, Bonita Springs FL, Publix Coffee Club of Estero, and Old Timers Softball Association. Surviving are his daughter, Sandra K. Bay of New Haven, son, Jim (Vickie) Speck of Fort Wayne, 6 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren. William was preceded in death by loving wife of 72 years, Etta C. "Pat" Speck, parents, Vincent Speck and Edmee Dowden, son, William G. Speck Jr., sisters Mildred Waterman, Evelyn Burden, brother, Joseph Speck, grandson, Jeff Cowles, granddaughter, Janna Miller and son in law Richard Bay. Service is Tuesday April 10, 2012 at 2:00 pm with calling 1 hr prior at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Home,1140 Lake Ave. with Rev. Dave Williamson officiating. Calling on Monday April 9, 2012 from 4-8pm at the funeral home. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. This took me a long time to do.....Never knew what to say....It's been rough on all of us......But i do know this ....You wasn't only my Grandfather.You was my Father .And for all that you have taught me and how much you have loved me.I THANK YOU !!! I miss you and Grandma SO MUCH !!! I love you Grandpa !! Always your Shorty !!

I will miss talking to you and listening to your stories that you told jeff and I so many times. you will be miss by all of us but I am glad that you had your wonderful wife waiting for you with open arms Rest In Peace and know that you were love and your memories will last a life time. I had the good fortune to work with Bill at the Great Zollner Corporation for a few years before he retired. He was a prince of a guy, always upbeat smiling and positive. He treated me great, I was just the mail boy. Jim was well-liked and admired by all those who worked with him and knew him. His son Jim was the same, a great guy to know.
My sympathies to his family on Jim's passing, he was great one.

My Dad worked with Bill at Zollners for many years. We bowled together at Key Lanes bowling alley. My Mom n Dad named me after him. He was a good friend and good bowler. My prayers are with you in this time of grief n sadness.
