H. G. "Jim" TrainerJr., 82, passed away Monday, January 9, 2012. Born in Washington, DC, Jim was Chief Engineer with Navistar for 31 years and retired in 1992 from Zollner Pistons. He was a past President of the Fort Wayne Photographer's Club, past chairman of the Fort Wayne Society of Automotive Engineers, past captain of the Fort Wayne U.S.T.A Tennis League and an avid golfer. Surviving are his wife, Pat Trainer of Fort Wayne, sons, Dale Trainer of Hendersonville, TN and Dean (Julie) Trainer of Fort Wayne, daughter, Renee (Kelly) Cottingham of Parker, CO, step-son, William (Gwen) Hull of Fort Wayne, step-daughters, Jennifer (Greg) Schlosser of Fort Wayne and Cara (Tim) Hall of Leo, brother, Allen (Leah) Trainer of Fairview Park, OH and grandchildren, Jenny, Jason, Trey, Mallory, Peyton, Sarah, Sam, Nick, Eric, Jasper, Levi and Oscar. Jim was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Lou Trainer and sister, Johanna Ziemke. Service is 11 a.m. Friday at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road with Rev. David Heim officiating, calling 1 hour prior to service. Calling also 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Heartland Hospice.
