Alvin L. Pook, 81, died Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at Desert Elder Care in Sahuarita, AZ. Born in South Whitley, IN, he was a Regional Materials Manager with Conrail for 38 years, retiring in 1984. He was a WW II US Navy veteran, Atlantic and Pacific, past V.P. Fairmont Neighbor Association, member of Fort Wayne Senior Golf League, Retired Railroad Golf League, Trustee of PRR Veterans Association, Blue Lodge #358, Queen City, and American Legion Post #98, Columbia City. Survivors include daughters, Jill Button of Green Valley, AZ, Terasa Massey of Bath, MI; sons Mark Pook, Jack Pook of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Brock and Danny Pook, Regan Massey; former wife Mildred of Fort Wayne; preceded in death by daughter, Sherry in 1969; 3 brothers, Glenn, Eugene and Lawrence. Service 11:00 a.m. Monday at D.O. McComb & Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Ave. Calling 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Sunday at the funeral home.
